Sonya Ferreira-Cunha is the founder and lead designer of Maverick Home Design and Staging® and has been a professional home stager and property stylist since 2014.

After many years as a therapist specializing in art therapy and color psychology, Sonya transformed her career into home staging and design after becoming a mom. Her accomplishments include acquiring her ASP® (Accredited Staging Professional) accreditation with StagedHomes.com (the training program designed by Barb Schwarz, the creator of home staging). She holds a Master's degree in psychology with a specialization in art therapy. Sonya also holds a Certificate in Interior Design from the New York Institute of Art and Design. Her other designations include HSR Certified Professional Home Stager and Redesigner, Master Color Consultant™, Certified Expert E-Designer™, Investor Staging Consultant™, and Luxury Home Specialist™.  She is a member of the Real Estate Staging Association (RESA®) as well as the American Society of Home Stagers and Redesigners (ASHSR).  Sonya is also Vice President of the Greater Newburyport Chapter of the Women’s Business League.

Sonya enjoys international travel, watching HGTV (naturally!), spending time with her family, and her two rescue dogs Milo and Shelby.
